Bitter and Twisted (Chipping Norton) - A Coeliac's Review

Chipping Norton is a gorgeous little town which is about forty minutes out of Oxford. It's a lovely place to visit for the day - some great walks around and also great for charity shopping - I literally never leave there without an amazing find!

Bitter and Twisted is a little restaurant which looks onto the town square. It's got a lovely big window so it's great if you're a people watcher. Opposite the window is a big mirror so you can see the square wherever you're sitting!

They don't have a gluten-free menu which is kind of annoying because you have to pick a few dishes you like and get the waiter to go and ask the chef and come back to you. However, they are extremely knowledgeable in how important it is that there is no cross contamination and really good at swapping side dishes to suit you.

I tried the grilled sea bass and tomato and chorizo risotto and it might have been the best dish I've been served since being on a gluten-free diet. Thinking about it makes me crave it!

The sea bass was cooked perfectly and the risotto was just creamy enough. The waitress was also extremely friendly.

I would highly recommend Bitter and Twisted. The service was excellent and quick. The only downfall I can begin to think of is that this is very much a 'locals' spot. It can be quite intimidating walking in to loads of rowdy locals, haha!
